From it’s humble beginnings in 1983 as a small soup kitchen through today, Shepherd’s Table provides meals and services to the homeless community in Montgomery County, MD.
Shepherd’s Table offers breakfast and lunch from Monday to Friday, weekend brunches and serves dinner every night of the week. Though food service remains at the heart of the mission of the organization, through the years they’ve expanded their services and now also offer:
- Eye Clinic Services: created to address the need of the uninsured for vision testing, glaucoma screening, and prescription eyeglass service.
- The Clothes Closet: clean clothing for all seasons, shoes, accessories, socks and toiletries.
- The Resource Center: access to information and referral to support services, personal mail and telephone use, token assistance to reach shelter and support services, toiletries, blankets, over the counter meds, and crisis intervention.
As part of Digital Industry’s Giving Back initiative, we are honored to help support Shepherd’s Table’s mission, by providing day-to-day complementary Managed I.T. support for their organization. We are delighted to be a part of the dedicated organizations that support Shepherd’s Table to help those in need in our community and the Washington DC area.
