Homeland Security Warns Businesses To Prepare For Iranian Cyberattacks

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued an alert on Monday, January 6, 2020, urging U.S. businesses to prepare for potential cyberattacks by Iranian hackers, as tensions between the U.S. and Iran continue to escalate.

Iranian hackers have carried out attacks against U.S businesses on countless occasions, and the possibility of retaliatory attacks presents a serious security concern for U.S. government agencies and businesses.

As a precaution, CISA recommends organizations take the following actions:

  1.  Adopt a state of heightened awareness.
  2. Increase organizational vigilance.
  3. Establish a suspicious activity reporting process.
  4. Have an organizational incident response plan.
